Taneisha W. Riggs

Attorney

Attorney Riggs earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice/Pre-Law from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She subsequently went on to get a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. She is now the Public Defender for the 15th and 16th Judicial Districts. She is also a current member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel and a Federal court appointed attorney in the Western District of Louisiana.

Attorney Riggs takes satisfaction not just in assisting those in need, but also in teaching them about their legal difficulties. In her short years as an attorney, she has offered free legal services to people in the Acadiana area because she really believes that everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background, deserves to be treated fairly.
